any hi-gain amp will hiss. My old Peavey 5150 was very bad, so bad, that I could not use certain pedals with it... So you can either learn to avoid it like switching the channel off when the song is not played or use a "hush" de-noiser. Still, it should not be that bad. But of all the guitars in the world you have a Strat.. hmm - a Strat has single coil pickups which do not cancel noise. They attract hum and interference and so you have to stand at a sweet spot away from lights, fridges, and away from the amp itself.

I replaced all of my Strat pickups with hum-free ones from Fender. They work great.

Any professional cable manufacturer should be fine - the answer is do not use a thin cheap cable. And it must be a shielded 1 core guitar cable and not just any old 2 core cable. It is a guitar cable right? If not then there is your answer.
