I recently bought a Marshall JVM410C Combo Amp, it’s a great Valve amp, but I’m having some issues with noise and hum when I play on the Distortion at high levels.
1. I’m using a Fender Stratocaster with single coil pickups and plugging my Guitar directly in front of my amp without any affects. I get this loud humming noise coming from my amp. For live and studio playing it’s not an ideal situation. I know you will get a certain amount of feedback and noise but should it be as loud as this?
2. What type of Guitar leads would you guys recommend, that could possibly reduce noise and are hardwearing and are great for live and studio work.
All help would be very much appreciated and thank you all in advance,
Best of luck

Greetings from down the road.
1. The hum should not be to excessive levels. Have you tried using different cables or using a buddies guitar? Does the same thing happen? If it's still excessive when you've tried different cables and guitars I'd bring it back to the store and claim warranty. If you open it up to go messing you'll loss the warranty.
2. Any good quality, heavy duty cable should suffice. I've used both Fender and Monster cables and found them very good. Cordials I also found good.
Best of luck.
