Re: Are all Celestions now made in China???

G60- Dave,

I am new to this forum also. I bought my first Marshall superlead in 1973 when I like 15-16 years old. Started playing in groups soon after that. I, like you have seen tons of changes in the music business in the last 30-40 years. Some of it I was ok with, some not.

I also like you, really don't have a problem with someone building a better mouse trap, per se, if really we are comparing the same things, apples to apples...etc. If we are talking about the same quality, the same craftsmanship etc...why move production? Because of the pollution standards that your country and my country have...er had?

If I was sure its the same quality at a lower price with the same global/human rights/ manufacturing standards that our countries adopted long ago, I like you would have no problem with the product being from Mars... because someone figured out a way to to it better and cheaper, and not putting lives or enviroment at risk. I know a bunch of folks who travel to china weekly and tell me that is simply not the case.

If people over there complain about the conditions, they are simply taken away and not heard from again. So, yes the subject matter has taken a heavy turn, but we are not talking about a free society on an even playing field in my book, and people need to start realizing this.
