Because I play blues and classic rock, I had really not considered Boggie's in the past. The Electra Dyne is very much like the Vintage Modern's I currently own, but do I dare say even better.

It is also a single channel amp, but with 3 dynamic ranges instead of 2. The nice thing about the Boogie is that one has the ability to match volumn on each range. There is also the capability of switching to half power and also switch power tubes. You can use either 6L6's or EL34's and change bias with a flip of a switch.

The tone of this amp is huge. The model I played was a 1 X 12 combo but sounded much more like a 2 X 12. The sound just filled the room. It sounded very open. Each range was very usable. The clean range was very reminiscent of a high quality Fender. The high and low ranges are much like very high quality vintage Marshall tones and this was with 6L6's. Before checking, I honestly thought it was loaded with EL34's. The reverb is a true tube reverb and was excelent. Again, it reminded me of a very good Fender spring reverb. You can also completely bypass the reverb if desired.

The thing I really like is there is only 6 knobs. Very unusual for a Boogie, but one I really like since getting used to the VM's. If you play the blues/classic rock and are in the market for a new amp, you owe it to yourself to try this one. This is a well thought out amp and (imo) the sound is incredible.
