Wired in series? Are You sure?
For a tube amp, series wiring is usually not recommended as in the case of a failure, an open connection (=no load) occurs, and the PT, or the tube(s), or both can bite the dust.
IOW, IF Your speakers are wired in series, then just only died speaker will result a dead silent cab (and probably a dead silent amp too, if tube).
I do know about the possibility of a shorted speaker voice coil, but I have never seen that in a woofer, but I've only been in the trade for 25 years or so. Anything's possible.
