One other important factor is that that 2x12 cabinet is only 12" deep and the 4x12 is 14" deep. That makes for a big difference in low end response. The wood type used, inside area volume, speakers, cabinet, depth, etc... all effect the tonal response. Its subjective as to what is better. The Avatar Vintage is a good, lower cost 2x12 and one of the best is probably the Bogner OS 2x12.
