Re: Artist 3203
First, using 2 cabs of equal ohms is important. I believe a 1960 is 16 ohms. Mixing a 16 and an 8 would make an unbalanced load and hurt your amp. Two 16 ohm cabs would make 8. Two 8 ohm cabs would make 4. Now alot of guys will tell you 4 ohms isn't any louder, but adding more speakers moves more air, and that will make it feel louder. Plus, stacking the cabs will get it closer to your head, as opposed to going into the back of your legs. Or put a cab on each side of the stage to spread the sound.
I have trouble with the thinness of the clean channel as well.
The Split Channel Handbook only shows the front and back panels and is really no help.
Clean: vol 3.5, bass 10, mid 6, treble 0
Boost: vol 8, tone 8, gain 2
or
Cleanish: vol 6
Hard Rock: vol 4, gain 6
or
JCM Killer vol 9 tone 10 gain 10
