I ran this head as my main sound for years (late '80s early '90s) through a Marshall 4x12 slant cab and as far as I'm concerned its the best sounding head for overdrive/distortion sounds Marshall ever made. The only mods I ever made were Groove tubes and I ran a Boss EQ pedal through the FX loop.
It's tone is pure Marshall so if you're looking for a Mesa type tone package or modeling or a real clean channel you've come to the wrong place.
