I think most overdrives would work great for this. Depending on how much coloring you accept for your tone, you have the ProCo Rat, Ibanez Tube Screamer, MXR Overdrive (green box), Fulltone OCD, Digitech Bad Monkey (I think it's Digitech...? I think so...) or just try any nice sweet volume boost pedal as you're going to roll back the gain knob of the overdrive (or amp, if you prefer that) and max out level which is the volume. There are other alternatives of course, like get a Boss overdrive or something, or a Radial Hot British.
