I wouldn't have it any other way.
One of the things I've always loved about the guitar is that even though there are "technically correct" ways to do things... In the real world there's no wrong way. You can use any technique or piece of gear you like and if it gets ya there, then... It's mission accomplished!

That would be cool too... As you have already stated, NOS tubes won't be available forever.
I just ask a lot of these questions to get a better general understanding, because in the end after thought, trial, and a few failures... I'm gonna pull a Frank Sinatra and do it "my way..."
