Ive always heard them refered to 70's sytle even though they made them all the way to 1980. My point was that the gweets he was using were the ones that fender unfortunately started using "quality control" on. Even though today they are the milestone for tone, fender was cutting back a lot on quality around this period. Thanks for the clear up sojatriani.
