Re: Your first Marshall amp

I just got my first Marshall amp yesterday... I was looking for an AVT50 combo but couldn't find one, so I picked up an AVT100 1x12 combo off ebay for just over $200.00 (plus shipping). I've just started "dialing it in" for my preferred tone, but so far it sounds pretty dang good for a hybrid. I especially like the tone from overdriving the clean channel. The two "OD" channels are screamers, but not exactly a fit for my southern rock/blues style. Maybe I will find a sweet-spot in the OD1/2 after I get more familiar with the settings (it was just delivered last night). The built-in effects don't do much for me but I'm more "plug-in-and-play" anyway. Before this, I have used Peavey, Ampeg, Vox, and various other "no-name" amps.
Anyway, it is a thrill to finally play my Gibson LP through a Marshall amp!!!
