900 SL-X. No need for a mod. While the 800 is pure volume, it just doesn't get the richness that the SL-X gets. Don't get me wrong, the 800 has its place, but have you ever heard someone run straight into an 800 and get an acceptable sound? Everyone I've ever heard or seen has to run OD and EQ to get the throaty/ballsy hammer blows from the 800's. The SL-X just needs a guitar and someone to play it. It has everything onboard to rumble the gates of hell. Thick, meaty, grumbling, anger machine, that cleans up and gets an honest FAT Texas blues sound that is soooo damned sweet.

SL-X FTW!
